As part of its actions to promote food security and climate change adaptation, RAI Congo DR has carried out a series of capacity-building activities for rural communities in the Masisi and Kalehe territories, North Kivu Province.
Faced with challenges such as soil degradation, irregular seasons, and declining agricultural productivity, the organization has trained local community members in resilient agricultural practices. These trainings focused on:
- Sustainable soil use;
- Climate-adapted cropping practices;
- Integrated fertility management;
- Crop diversification;
- Adoption of innovative agricultural methods less vulnerable to climate-related risks.
In parallel, the teams supported beneficiaries through the distribution of essential agricultural inputs, enabling immediate application of the knowledge gained.
This initiative aims to strengthen the autonomy of farming households, improve local production, and promote food systems capable of withstanding climate disruptions. Through this support, RAI Congo DR reaffirms its commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities focused on sustainable agricultural development.
