Providing Psychosocial Support and Hygiene Kits to Displaced Populations in Eastern DRC

In Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, ongoing armed conflicts continue to force thousands of families to flee their homes, leaving them in extremely difficult living conditions. RAI Congo DR stands alongside these vulnerable communities, providing essential support to help them cope with daily challenges and rebuild a sense of hope.

Our teams work directly with displaced people living in overcrowded camps around Goma, including Bulengo and Lushagala. In these challenging environments, we provide psychosocial support to:

  • Offer a safe space to share feelings and receive emotional support;
  • Strengthen the resilience of individuals and communities affected by trauma;
  • Connect people in distress to specialized services when needed;
  • Raise awareness on stress management, social cohesion, and prevention of gender-based violence;
  • Support families, particularly women and children, who are among the most affected by displacement.

At the same time, we provide hygiene kits to women and girls, addressing urgent needs that are often overlooked in emergencies. Each distribution is coupled with practical guidance on health and hygiene, empowering beneficiaries to care for themselves and their families.

Through these actions, RAI Congo DR reaffirms its commitment to stand with displaced communities, promoting their well-being, dignity, and resilience, and helping them regain control over their lives despite the daily challenges they face.
